the “Vegetable”

When we attend trade fairs, visitors always give us very strong encouragement in the use of materials from plant origins and which, therefore, do not use animal products.

For those who make shoes for a living, it’s hard to think of a shoe that doesn’t use leather but we asked ourselves whether our choice of eco-sustainability could be compatible with using animal-derived material.

It’s true that we do use leather and even if we only use vegetable tanned leather, it’s still an animal product and there’s still an impact on the environment. In addition, there are issues concerning the origin of the hides, animal husbandry and their water consumption and affect on the land, as well as their living conditions.

Although we would love to say our company is completely “VEGAN OK”, we have simply not been able to survive with that choice. We need to pay our craftsmen and women and only by producing “less inhumane” leather products have we been able to keep going and to offer completely “VEGAN OK” products made from hemp and cork.

Our focus, our future and our hope is in products made solely from plant origin. We hope you support our view and decide to buy “VEGAN OK”.
